MEDIAFRIENDS SUPPORTS NEW FILM PROJECT

Mediafriends is proud to announce its support for “Una Cosa Sola”, an innovative film project that reinforces its commitment to raising awareness and improving the quality of care — and life — of adolescent oncology patients.

The film delves into the pivotal stage of adolescence, a time when identity is open, multifaceted, and full of potential futures. It explores what happens when illness suddenly intrudes, collapsing that horizon into a single, suffocating label: the diagnosis.

Set at the National Cancer Institute of Milan, the film follows young patients through their daily lives — navigating the structured hospital environment while embracing the freedom of expression offered by the Progetto Giovani. Through writing and performance, the adolescents resist having their identities reduced solely to their illness, affirming their right to be many things at once, even when the world sees only one.

“Una Cosa Sola” does not celebrate recovery, hope, or clichéd courage. It is an intimate portrait of the tension between who one is in the process of becoming and how the world perceives them, pausing to listen to just one aspect. It is an authentic, human, and tangible exploration of words and gestures.

Filming is slated to start in January 2026.
